Description
A perfect champagne for the aperitif, especially in summer or spring.
Pairings : at the table, it goes very well with seafood and shellfish, and is perfect with a sea bass or sea bream tartar. A perfect champagne for the aperitif, especially in summer or spring.
Tasting notes : This wine has a beautiful pale golden yellow colour with light green highlights, a brilliant, luminous robe. Active effervescence and persistent release. An initial nose of great intensity, with notes of fresh fruit, particularly ripe citrus. A second, very fine, floral nose with notes of white flowers and white fruit (white peach). A supple, harmonious attack on the palate, with plenty of roundness. Excessive vinosity, supported by superb freshness. Notes of nectarine, citrus fruit and a pretty mineral finish.
Vinification and vineyard : Ruinart was founded on 1 September 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart. His uncle, Dom Thierry Ruinart, a learned Benedictine monk, had a stroke of genius. He sensed that this new 'sparkling wine', developed in his native Champagne region and much loved by the royal courts of Europe, had a bright future ahead of it. The creation of Ruinart coincided with the birth in France of the "Age of Enlightenment" and the French art of living. A genuine culture of goodness and beauty was born in France, favouring a taste that was fine and elegant, light and sophisticated, delicate and rare. Ruinart cuvées naturally found their place in this culture. Driven by a constant quest for excellence and the absolute, Ruinart has chosen Chardonnay, a rare and fragile grape variety, as the common thread running through all its cuvées.
