Le Comte de Malartic - Pessac Léognan
Description
A cuvée that combines the authenticity of a native grape variety, recognised throughout the world, with modern winemaking techniques. The result is seductive, colourful, fragrant, full-bodied and rich. Extremely accessible, it is easy to pair with a wide variety of dishes.
Located in Léognan in Gironde, Château Malartic-Lagravière is a wine estate classified as a Grand Cru in the Graves appellation. Acquired by Michèle and Alfred-Alexandre Bonnie in 1996, the estate has a long history dating back to the late 18th century with the Malartic family. The vineyard, protected by the Landes forest, is planted on gravel, sand and clay soils, offering excellent drainage and optimal water supply. These exceptional conditions ensure the production of high-quality wines.
Lots of aromas and flavours of crushed stone, redcurrant and bark. A hint of iodine. Medium-bodied, with soft, round tannins and a savoury finish. Needs three or four years to develop. Best enjoyed from 2024 onwards.
Nose : a refined bouquet combining ripe red fruits, notes of blackcurrant and plum, enhanced by spicy and slightly woody nuances.
Palate : velvety attack, full and balanced mid-palate, fine and silky tannins. Lingering finish with lovely freshness.
This wine will pair perfectly with French specialities, such as beef bourguignon, or poultry.
